Leicester Road pavements

1 April 2007 One Comment

The pavements in the section of Leicester Road between Lytton Road and Plantagenet Road are in a very poor state of repair. The council have not repaired any of this section of road for long time. The excuse is that the building work on the site of the old fire station needs to be finished before they pavement repairs are undertaken.

Why should residents have to wait on the whim of a developer? If the pavements are damaged during the works then the contractor should make repairs. It is a poor excuse and I shall be asking the Highways department to make this part of Leicester Road a priority.

Now if the Council had re-laid the pavements first, I can see the headlines in the next Focus newsletter. Council wastes money before developer finishes.

From a resident in Leicester Road.
