Last night I attended the policing pledge meeting at the Bull on Barnet High Street. It was a very good meeting. One issue that was repeatedly raised was that of Barnet police station and the fact that it is not open 24 hours a day. We were told at the meeting that a review is currently underway. I have previously campaigned for the station to be open and it was extensively re-furbished with this in mind, but it never materialised. Today I have written to the Borough Commander stating my view that we need a local 24 hour police presence. I will publish the response as soon as I get it.
